Originally from Gretna, Madeline Boyle now lives in the small town of Whitefish, Montana. Having studied & created art around the globe, Boyle's work focuses on the significant, subtle & quiet moments often overlooked in life. Boyle's hand-produced, fleshy, 9' tall paper panels are layered with wax, charcoal and oil paint. The final aesthetic is both inviting & distant, delicate & strong, resistant yet forgiving. Don't miss this three day only exhibition. On display to the public July 28, 29 & 31.
Join us for Omaha Fashion Week's "Idol with Style" auditions. Step in front of our judges with your best voice for your chance to perform during intermission at Omaha Fashion Week 2010. With over 4000 people in attendance, fame will definitely shine on you! Arrive early for the best shot of getting an audition, only the first 75 people will be allowed to be seen by our judges. From these 75, 10 finalists will be chosen to perform on Friday, August 20th. From here, three finalists will be chosen to perform on stage at Omaha Fashion Week in front 4000+ spectators. The winner will be chosen by the audience via text messaging. Winner will also receive the Idol with Style prize package (To be posted at a later date)
For the first time in Omaha, Lincoln artist Chad M. Olsen exhibits his exquisite formalist paintings. Inspired by the Eastern philosophy of quieting the mind in order to find fulfillment in our depths, Olsen's work takes viewers on a journey into washes of layered, subtle color and allows them to arrive in a place that is both private and universal. A percentage of all art sales from "Emptiness - Nothingness" will go to The Kent Bellows Studio & Center for Visual Arts. Reception begins at 7pm.
